Zworg.com is an email provider offering premium e-mail accounts, (and free accounts in a limited fashion). We offer e-mail accounts on multiple domains, accessible through POP3 or a web browser.
Our service is dedicated to individual e-mail users (not companies). As such, we listen carefully to user feedback, and regularly add features to satisfy them.
Zworg.com has been running smoothly since 1999, and has been growing steadily since then. Late last year we started offering premium accounts at a cost, with a great response. As of March, 2003 we are covering the overheads and are concentrating on improving the service to increase our user base. We do not foresee ever needing to shut down the service
We use our own custom software. The first version of the software was written from scratch in 1999. In 2002, the software was rewritten to allow for handling of a large number of users, and provide a base for a host of new features planned in the coming years.
We have received not a few e-mails asking what Zworg means and how to pronounce it. We pronounce it "zorg". We do not know what it means or where it came from. I (Tom) was driving to work one morning and the name just popped into my head, so I registered it that morning. Oddly enough, people don't seem to mind the name, some even like it!. Anyhow, we now have irk.ca available for premium users only - I know... it's not much better than zworg.com :). If you have any suggestions for more domain names e-mail support@zworg.com (please check that they are available first).
Tom Fishwick created the service and currently maintains it. He wrote the software from scratch, answers your e-mails to support, and maintains the service.
Thanks to hosting provider BareMetal, Zworg.com has excellent connectivity and uptime with servers located in United States and Canada .
